WATCH: Finsbury Park baseball subculture picks up as American season comes to conclusion

London’s baseball subculture builds to a buzz in Finsbury Park as locals and ex-pats alike enjoy ‘Fall Ball’ tournament at the London Mets.

The London Mets, the UK’s most successful baseball team in the last decade, hosted a multi-week ‘Fall Ball’ tournament in October, which aligned with the end of the MLB season in America.

Finsbury Park, which is home to netball, football, athletics and many other sports across the year, is also home to a baseball diamond, driving local participation in the sport from a young age.

The MLB World Series finished on Wednesday 28 October, with the Milwaukee Brewers triumphing 4-1 over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Baseball has spread across London, with other clubs including Richmond Baseball Club, Croydon Pirates and Greenwich Giants.
