Thousands of West Ham United supporters marched with a hearse and coffin to protest the club’s owners before a Premier League game at London Stadium.
The protest – staged before a fixture against Burnley on 8 November – was organised by supporters group Hammers United, who are running a campaign titled ‘No More BS’ to put pressure on chairman David Sullivan and vice-chairman Karren Brady to resign.
Sullivan, who acquired a majority stake in the Hammers with his late business partner David Gold in 2010, oversaw the club’s move to London Stadium six years later.
The former Olympic stadium’s suitability for football is the source of much fan frustration, according to supporters.
Hammers United chairman Paul Colborne, who felt there were between 7,000 and 10,000 protestors, said: “People hate this stadium. It is not a football stadium.”
“These people have ripped the heart and soul out of our club.”
West Ham told the BBC they believed 2,000 to 3000 fans were present at the protest.
In a statement made in September they defended their attempts to improve London Stadium for supporters.
